Limestones by Design

Limestone is the best choice for a gift. They are big enough to be seen from the street, but small enough that they wont break the back of the person your giving it to. Unlike granite or sandstone, limestone engraves well and lasts long. Because it is so abundant in Iowa its also cost effective.

Check out our premade design templates, sizes and edge styles on our limestone page. Different edge options are available to fit the tone of the gift you are going for. We also offer metal stands that allow you to display them upright. The 12”x 18” Limestone can even be shipped to you!

Pondstones

Pondstones are perfect for little gifts. They vary in size, shape and color. Anything from pet memorials to legacy stones and vacation mementos. We can engrave anything you can think of. The downside to Pondstones is their smaller size and variation. We are always willing to push the boundaries of what we can engrave, but there are limits. The Clover stone shown is a perfect example. The line on the right side of the pups face between the ear and cheek is to small to engrave. So we had to compromise by painting it on. It will still stand the test of time as our paint is meant to last. Pondstones can even be shipped to you!

You Design it Limestones

Want a Limestone but feel like getting little more ambitious with the design, shape or size? Feel free to send us any graphics, photos or ideas you have. It can be as detailed as a photo or as simple as a kids drawing. Black and white or full color. Noah can work with you over the phone, email or in person to come up with the design. Boulders

Looking for something a little bigger? We have smaller boulders in stock on the Boulder Inventory page (prices shown include engraving). If we don’t have any that fit what your looking for, you can check out the Boulder Engraving page for other options.

Designs like the DoubleZ boulder shown require certain characteristics in the stone in order to be achievable. The boulder needs to be smooth, have a fine makeup and be large enough to keep smaller details while engraving.

Rough stones such as The Andersons one shown can be engraved as well. We can remove some imperfections using a hammer and chisel or sandblasting before engraving. However we can not cut or polish the stone. Keep in mind imperfections such as bumps, pits, cracks or flakes can effect the quality of the engraving. We try to minimize their impact, but every boulder is different.

Onsite Engraving

Have something already in place that’s to big to bring to us? We can come onsite and deliver the same engraving quality as in shop. Submitting an onsite request is simple! All we need is a photo of the stone, the location and what you would like engraved. We can give you a quote and design the stone without having to see it in person. Once a design is approved you will be put on our onsite schedule and we will be there as soon as possible. Engravings can’t be done in temps below 50 degrees or above 95 due to glue and paint. Be sure to get on the schedule as soon as possible, this way we can get to you during the warm months.

If you have something not shown on our website, don’t hesitate to see if we can engrave it. Using Sandblasting to engrave gives you the most depth. and our 135W Co2 Laser engraver, we are willing to engrave anything.
